I’m Linda,
a Product Designer based in Toronto, Canada.

My Design Journey

In 2017 I graduated from Wilfred Laurier University with a Biology/Psychology degree. I was pursuing a career in medicine to ultimately become a Paediatric Oncologist but decided to put that career on pause.

Throughout my life, since high school, I was always into Fashion. I wanted the opportunity to explore my creative side before I committed to anything else, so I did just that. I went to George Brown College in Toronto and studied Fashion Management until I realized it wasn’t a career path I wanted to pursue. I ultimately wasn’t able to hone in the analytical skills I had from science which I very much enjoyed still, so I dropped out after a year of studying Fashion.

After this, I was in a rut and didn’t know what to do with my life anymore.

My boyfriend, who is also a Product Designer ended up introducing me to UX/UI Design. In the summer of 2018, that is when my life changed for the better.

I committed 100% of my time to learn UX/UI Design by taking advantage of online resources, free classes in Toronto, and mentorship from my boyfriend. It finally felt like I found something I genuinely enjoyed doing and soon realized it was because I was able to combine both my problem-solving and creative skills into one job.
